I am late to the environmental game, but my wife and I have taken some recent steps in helping the environment. They include: air in tires, reusing the same bags for groceries, changing 90% of our light bulbs to low energy, turning the heat off when we leave for vacations, purchasing a low-energy washer/dryer, buying window shades that better conserve heat/cold, adding insulation to my attic, getting tune-ups for our cars. I also learned that my town does not recycle cardboard, but my mother-in-law’s town does recycle cardboard. So each month we give her those materials, rather than throw them away. Just as you say, small steps, but hoping it makes a difference.
