I am the oldest daughter to David Chase (elmcorners). I live in Cambridgeport, Vermont or as my son calls it, “the sunnyside of Everest.” It’s a beautiful piece of Vermont with a great view and minimal intrusion from the busy day to day life. I share this space with my fiance, Bob Furman, daughter, Lizi and son, Rylan.
While growing up, my parents lived, and by example taught, thrift, self-sufficiency, use everything you have until it’s purpose has been exhausted – then and only then, get rid of it. Just because it’s broken doesn’t mean you toss it and by a new one. Nope. You fix, repair and jury rigged to get the most out of it.
Throughout my 43 years, this is a common thread that is very apparent when you talk to friends and family members. Thanks to my parents! I’m always open to ways to recycle and reduce that will be a smooth transition into my life, given where I am and the availability to make it happen.
There is the old Vermont saying, “Use it up, wear it out, make it do, or do with out.”
