My life has been guided by a passion for conservation, realism, inspiration, and my community of friends and family. From an early age, it became apparent to me that consumption and sustainability are in a constant state of conflict; the pursuit of individual rights of life and liberty is unsustainable, requiring a communal compact and sacrifice to save ourselves. I have explored small solutions to these issues at various points along my life transect: from school to work, and as a husband and family man. The opportunity to take simple actions that benefit the environment is greater today than they ever have been catalyzed by a convergence in technological innovation and public awareness founded in undeniable science. This is fueling the implementation of renewable energy and green building projects across the country and I have been fortunate to be paid to work on these projects. Carbonrally is an extension of this philosophy. The power of the internet to bring single individuals together to generate a positive impact to the planet makes me even more optimistic, which says a lot for a realist. And just as importantly, have fun along the way – rally on!
