I rarely use paper towels, and when I do, they are unbleached and recycled post-consumer brands. When I do use them, I put them in my compost bin, so at least they don't end up in the landfill.
With sponges and dish towels, I just wash them along with my clothes once a week, since I don't have a microwave to sanitize things.
