puff
puff lives in Phoenix, AZ.I am 53 years old and grew up in a household where 6 loads of clothes were hung every morning. When I married and moved to Oregon, the first thing I insisted on was a cloths line. Believe me it took lots of creavity to get the things dry up there. I now live in my beloved desert again. I try to dry all of my laundry outside even in the winter. We cool our home with a cooler from May to almost August, but have to switch to our AC due to our monsoon season (if you have never been to Arizona in August, give it a try some time). During the period that the cooler is in use, we created an irrigation system to dispurse the run off water on our lawn. My husband is remodeling our home and we are trying to create a system that will capture rain water and using a solar pump water our back planters and our future front planters. We recyle everything we can, reuse items that can’t be recyled, compost our garbage as much as possible, and try to buy Arizona grown only. Phoenix is just now starting to have a great network of Farmer’s Markets. The next thing we have to do is get an electric car (we are still woring on that one). I think this is a great way to get people to see that going Green is not as hard as they are making. Thanks for doing this.
