I am a mom of 3 boys and have always been a little green! I live in Plattsburgh and schoolie-shroomshra is one of my very good friends! For about 10 yrs. I have brought my own bags, and recycled as much as possible. My New Year’s resolution 2007 was to become more green. I changed lightbulbs, made sure my boys turn off lights when leaving the room, started composting, changed to recycled paper goods, will soon do away more with them by using cloth napkins and not replenishing my paper towels, recycled or no! I use baking soda,lemon juice and vinegar for lots of cleaning and am doing away with as many chemicals in the house as possible, we don’t use plastic water bottles we refill nalgene type bottles, I don’t use plastic storage bags anymore and I buy mostly organic foods and local whenever I can. I think being green is very important for everyone, but especially for those of us with children so that they will grow up understanding the need to take care of our fragile environment.
