okay i need some help here. there are A LOT of people who are convinced that using Blackle.com uses less energy, although it doesnt. rallyers, we need to let everyone know that they have been misinformed. Carbonrally even made a blog post about it! (read it here: http://blog.carbonrally.com/2008/10/21/illuminating-blackle ) just spread the word! leave comments on workshop challenges, comment on profiles, team pages, whatever! and thanks :)

EVERYBODYY!!! using Blackle does not save energy or carbon. only REALLY REALLY old computers (the big giant faded-yellow dinosaurs) use less energy to display a dark screen. okay, the administrator said they checked with seventeen and that seventeen emails the coupons every wednesday, but i've been on carbonrally for 3-4 weeks now, and ive only gotten one email from seventeen (the one welcoming me to the team). i checked my preferences, and yes, i can recieve emails from the team... help??

one thing im seeing a lot is that people are recommending using blackle.com. but carbonrally posted on their blog that only the REALLY REALLY old computers (like dinosaurs!) benefit from this search engine because all other computers use MORE energy to show a dark screen than a lighter one. check out carbonrally's blog for more info, and help spread the word!

I have a challenge that is really good... it is called Setback Payback and it saves 200lbs. of C02 per month. Imagin if all of you girls did that.That would save like 5 tons of Carbon. Well, try it! :D :D :D :D

Also cause im an Envirnmentalist all the tips and products really gave me a broader look at the things that i can do. I already do alot but the few extra tips really gave me alot of ideas to help our planet. After all Mother Earth Cant do it alone!!!

I have been waiting for the coupons for about two weeks and they have never come! What is going on...does anyone know?

I thought that this months issue was a great inspiration for everyone to see how easy going green can be. The issue not only promoted going green but showed how fun and fashionable it is! I am glad that Seventeen is teaching our generation how to be green, it is great. Thank you Seventeen and all the girls who are going green!

hey rallyers... i sent this in as a challenge suggestion, but i wanted to make this idea more public. i found this cool new search engine called Blackle.com. it's pretty simmilar to Google.com, but it saves energy. all of Blackle's backgrounds are black instead of white, which conserve energy. did you know that running two Google searches uses as much energy as boiling a cup of tea?!? another webssite that gives back is goodsearch.com. its a yahoo powered search engine. you search the internet as you normally do, but half of goodsearch's advertising revenue will go to any charity of your choice... check it out :D

how do we get the mascara thing ?

Tried the mascara thing, didn't work. I know you can't get it in stores until April, but can you use the code online and get it before April?

If this website is about saving energy and other stuff one thing they should do is switch to a black background so it can use less energy.

I loved this month's issue of seventeen. Almost everything in the magazine was healthy for the planet and it featured tons of ways I'd never even think of to go green!

I love this idea. I just read my magazine and when I was completed I said, " Wow, Seventeen has tons of stuff in here about going green and I love it." I think that every magazine should be like this. Does anyone know if the magazine is made out of recycled paper? If not I think that would be a great next step for the magazine.

I HOPE as this problem becomes wider and wider across the world people will finally start to realise that this, is a problem and we can do things to help reduce this process, because the global warming was a phase in the earths history and its happening again, wayy to soon. i hope we can all figure out a way together to help get us and future kids and grandkids out of this mess that we have all created...after all it only takes 10 days to learn a new habit...if we practice these things for 10 days itwill get stuck in our brains and we will have created a new habbit...so lets start brain washing ourselves to help this problem out...
