GANG GREEN is a gang of people who are green minded. we are faculty and students at Lawrence High School in Fairfield Maine. We are in charge of recycling for our school of 900 students. We also sponsor a BIG educational effort every year for EARTH DAY. This year we hope to get as many schools in Maine as possible to plant at least one tree on Arbor Day in April 2008! If you live in Maine be listening for the challenge and if you live in another state perhaps you’ll want to start the effort there.

I'm about to sign up for the "Green Ham and Cheese" challenge. College is so expensive, that even if I make my own lunches for a WEEK, instead of a month, it's not just saving the planet, it's saving my wallet. lol

Cloth bags are a wonderful alternative to plastic. They can actually hold heavy loads without tearing through the flimsy plastic. My cat just loves to try to suffocate himself in those plastic bags, but it isn't so easy in cloth! But instead of tossing out those old plastic bags, they make a good poop-picker-upper on occasion and trashbags for the small wastebaskets. One day, microbes will evolve and be able to feast on all of out plastic waste. Until then, I will put the collections of plastic bags to good use, and purchase goods that can be transported in my cargo pants. I shall introduce my cat to the joy of my pants as well.

I sign up for the water bottle challenge when I had just grabbed a water bottle 5 mins before... -_- Well, I'm finishing it and then I'm going on the 7 day strike. Darn it.
