We like electricity. We don’t like electricity’s generation carbon emissions. We are a Virtual Power Plant. Since electricity consumption is the largest responsible for our CO2 emissions, we choose not to use stuff during energy peak hours. Skynja’s role is to define the challenge: time, stuff, and overall CO2 impact. Simulation started, virtual power is on.

Very cool idea, but how about adding some wind power plants to your virtual power plant? We've joined with you. Please join with us at: http://www.marylandgreenpower.com We are active in Massachusetts and 14 other States. If you can convince some small to medium businesses to turn to wind power, then we can take TONS and TONS of CO2 out of the atmosphere! A great way to do that is by signing up schools and churches for fundraising using Green Power. See: http://www.marylandgreenpower.com/greenpower/why-do-you-still-pay-retail-for-electricity-green-power-is-cheap/free-fundraising-opportunity-using-green-energy/ Let's combine efforts and make a huge impact!

Skynja visits coal plant in Brayton Point, MA. Brayton Point is the largest New England coal and gas thermoelectric power plant with 1,600 MW providing power to 1.5 million homes. Its first steam turbine was commissioned in 1962 and the last one in 1970. It has usually 20 days of coal supply and burns 10,000 tons of coal a day. Below is a picture of the power plant control center in 2010 (no, it is not a 1970’s picture)
