instead of using a dish washer and wasting vauble water, cut down on the use of water by washing your dishes by hand, out of the earths water supply only 2% of it is pure water,

According to this study found on Treehugger.com, it takes 1/6 the water to use a dishwasher than it does to wash by hand. http://www.treehugger.com/files/2005/08/dishwasher_vs_h.php
However, to be more green with your dishwasher, you could wait to run it until it's full (which could be every other day or so).

i read that it takes more water to handwash. most dishwashers are more efficient than us in saving water.
