This suggestion has been promoted to the "Two Cool" challenge!
Moving your thermostat down just 2 degrees in the witer and up 2 degrees in the summer could save about 2,000 pounds of CO2 per year
Discuss Adjust Your Thermostat:
If you aren’t too sensitive to heat, keeping it between 78-80 all year long will lower your electic bill, and save even more CO2. lots of house plants helps, on cooler days, turn off ac altogether and open windows to get some fresh air, plant shade trees in yard, use fans, be effecient in the kitchen (running the oven too much heats up the home,so does leaving on the tv [and other electronics] when you aren’t watching it, and there’s definately too much of that going on in america!) A good way to raise your tolerance of heat and cool off, is to drink plenty of clean water, avoid excessive amounts of protien, eat more grains, veggies and fruits, proper excercise, etc.
2 degrees isnt a whole lot, but 2,000 pounds is alot per year. Great idea and 100% worth the effort.
Seriously? o,o
WILL DO!
