Welcome to the MIT Carbonrally!

(view all teams)

From April 8 to May 8, the first ever MIT Carbonrally will take place. Students, staff, and faculty are encouraged to form teams to reduce their carbon footprint through small personal actions such as avoiding eating meat for 2 days a week, knocking a few minutes off your shower time, and unplugging your PC at night. There are currently 25 different challenges you can accept on Carbonrally.com, and new ones are added regularly.

Teams can be of any size, and the top ten teams will win $100 TechCASH. Scoring is based on the total reduction of carbon emissions for each team from April 8 to May 8. It takes only 5 minutes to register and join a team, and 1 minute to accept your first challenge.

In 2008, Carbonrally participants from across the U.S. took over 50,000 personal actions and reduced emissions by 1400 tons. Let’s add MIT’s impact in 2009.
